This fall, on November 20th 2010, we will be hosting in cooperation with the City of College Station and the Mayor’s Council on Physical Fitness the first GET FIT CSTAT Fun Run and Fitness Festival. This event’s purpose is to promote a healthy lifestyle to the citizens of College Station and to raise money for Project Sunshine.
All of the money raised at GET FIT CSTAT will go directly towards the events that we host for the Sunshine children throughout the year. These include trips to Santa’s Wonderland, carnivals, talents shows, picnics, zoo trips, sock hops, trick-or-treating, museum trips, and Aggie sporting events. These events provide an opportunity for children with special needs to interact with others outside of school in a positive atmosphere. In addition to hosting events for the children with special needs, their siblings are also invited to join. This allows the parents the opportunity to run weekly errands or have the rare opportunity to relax without the kids.
