The Village Cafe

The Village Cafe

We support all things local. Local food, local coffee, local music, local art, local beer and local wine.

We consider ourself an art cafe.
Specializing in soup, salad, sandwiches and pastries.

We house an art gallery and live music venue.

The mission of the gallery is to create awareness of the local art of the Brazos Valley and to give all forms of art a stage to be enjoyed as a community.

New shows are typically debuted monthly, when downtown businesses host “First Friday.” Each art opening is accompanied with a live music act and cuisine from the Village Cafe.  The first Friday of every month is a great opportunity to come enjoy art, live music, and great food.

The personality of the space is classic contemporary meets historic downtown. Our cafe tables combined with our soft seating create the perfect environment for socializing. The permanent mural and rotating art exhibits provide a great base for conversations and a warm environment. The ever-changing art brings new life to the space monthly.

Localize at The Village Café.

Salsa Dancing at The Village Cafe:

A fun night of salsa lessons and dancing is now offered at the Village Cafe Wednesday nights from 8pm to 12am! If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to dance salsa, then this is the night for you. The award-winning lessons on Wednesday nights are comprehensive and one hour longer than Saturday’s 30-minute intro lesson. Each week you’re taught all new moves, always beginning with a refresher of the basics and then moving into new material (no partner or experience is necessary.)

After the lesson, the dance floor opens up to social dancing. If you just want to come out for the dancing, then arrive at 9:30 and hit the dance floor. Just like Saturdays, you can dance to salsa, merengue and bachata. And, if you’re 21+, bring your ID for sangria, wine and beer specials each week!
